For the third consecutive year, Friendship Senior Options’ senior retirement communities Friendship Village of Schaumburg and GreenFields of Geneva were both named as Best Retirement/Assisted Living Communities in the Chicagoland area in Daily Herald Readers’ Choice Awards.
Friendship Senior Options is the parent organization of Friendship Village of Schaumburg and GreenFields of Geneva. “We are proud to once again have been selected as two of the top retirement communities. Daily Herald has a large and informed readership, and we are sincerely honored that they recognize us as being the best of the best from the many retirement communities in the area,” said Stephen A. Yenchek, president and chief executive officer of Friendship Senior Options. “We work hard and are firmly committed to our vision of serving as a nationally recognized leader of exemplary senior-centered services. These awards are proof that we uphold an exceptionally high standard of excellence.”
Friendship Village, which just celebrated its 38th anniversary, is one of the largest retirement communities in the nation and has won numerous awards for its innovative lifestyles programming. GreenFields of Geneva first opened the doors of its beautiful community three years ago and in a short time, has already established itself as a leader. Both GreenFields and Friendship Village offer a complete continuum of care including independent living, assisted living, memory support and skilled care, while providing an exceptional lifestyle.
Daily Herald, one of the Chicago area’s top media sources, has a readership of more than 900 thousand, who were encouraged to vote for this prestigious award.
In 2010, there were 53,364 Americans who were at least 100. By 2045 that number is projected to reach 757,000.
